Free Classroom Resources Pack about serious games for your school
We’ve created a free classroom resource pack about using serious games in your teaching, funded by the Scottish Government’s Entrepreneurial Education Pathways Fund.
This is a ready-to-use classroom activity for children in P4 to P7, that you can use to help learners:- Name different games they know and play.
- Explain why playing games can be important.
- Describe what a serious game is and what it is used for.
- Take part in a class debate about using serious games in school.
- Share their views on how well their school supports play, rest and relaxation.

Social Deal uses a creative story-based approach to introduce the different elements of business planning (such as market research, identifying customers, developing capacities, finance, sales, social purpose) and how a business model might influence the types of startup funding available.
The game is collaborative, with players sharing the stories they create, and can be replayed to experiment with different approaches.
